It's the most exciting, imaginative, uplifting cultural event of the year! A chance to join with your family and friends at the legendary First Night!

This year, First Night returns to Charlotte and with it, the chance for our entire community to celebrate New Year's Eve together. From 3:00 p.m. until midnight on December 31st, you'll find musicians, dancers, actors and artists in the heart of Uptown, welcoming everyone to take part in the alcohol-free festivities.

Abundant children's activities will make First Night the perfect occasion for all ages, with an early New Year's countdown at 7:00 p.m. for the youngest of revelers. And throughout the night, the fun will continue non stop, leading up to a spectacular countdown to midnight as we welcome 2009.  Join us for First Night Charlotte 2009
